Decided to make a few Mod Podge Picture Hangers for Christmas presents this year. Transferring some photos to wood using Mod Podge is a small woodworking project, that involves little work, few tools and a lot of waiting. I used a table saw for the initial cuts, but that could just as easily have been done with a circular saw. The hangers could easily be put on with just a screw driver. Sanding could have been done by hand and edges don't have to be routed (but it does look better if they are). I've had a project that I've wanted to do for a while. I've just been in the air about what method I wanted to use to join some of the pieces together. Enter the Kreg Pocket Hole Jig into my selection of tools. We decided on doing pocket holes, but for this I needed a jig. Over the years, I've come close to buying one on several occasions, but today it won out. It's just one more tool I'll have at my disposal for future projects. I've wanted to make a coat tree for quite awhile now. Being that it was Valentines Day, I figured it was a great time to make one for Brandy. The project was simple enough as it is. Find yourself a 5-6' long piece of 4x4 post and you're mostly done. Pick up a 2x4 and cut it to the length you want the feet to be, utilizing a 45 degree cut on the outer ends of the feet (you want the feet to cover a descent footprint for stability, but short enough to not be a trip hazard). Use scrap pieces as a contact point under the feet. Listed below is listed tools used and the color of stain I used. Look around at different stains though, find a color you like.
