Gutter Water Test, in the back

Writer: OG GrewellOG Grewell

With moving all that dirt around, it’s always a good idea to make sure the pipe is cleaned out. It’s also a good time to water test the downspout to make sure it’s doing it’s job. Something we often times neglect is the little things.

I don’t believe I’ve ever water tested this one, I just ‘assume’ it works and that it’s going to continue to work. It’s just too easy to check it that there really is no excuse to ignore it. Climb the ladder, push water down, make sure it’s coming out and clears up.

If it’s spewing a constant flow of dirt, then it either partially clogged or it’s crushed and taking in dirt as it flows. Either way, clean it out or replace it. PVC isn’t overly expensive.
